The 5th VoCamp was dedicated to "Device & Sensor Ontologies" and took place on 20th - 21st of May 2014 at Fraunhofer premises in Sankt Augustin, Germany.
The event was organized and chaired by Dr. Markus Eisenhauer, Head of the User-Centred Ubiquitous Computing Department at Fraunhofer FIT. The event was organized under the auspices of Adapt4EE and Ready4SmartCities European funded projects.
Fraunhofer FIT is partner of the Adapt4EE project in which context, a series of VoCamps were held to identify and further improve key vocabularies used in the AEC domain.
Acknowledging the urgent demand on integration and interoperability of sensor and actuation nodes in the general domain of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication this VoCamp presented, discussed and analysed existing ontologies and services built on top of these semantic models. Working groups elaborated on detailed topics during the second day of the meeting.
